That’s right: the Brazilian woman is not only the most beautiful, but also the happiest. That’s at least what a study by FGV Professor Marcelo Neri says.
On a scale of zero to ten, the Brazilians had to rate their current perception of happiness and expectations of future joy. Averaging 8.98 against 8.51 for the Danish women (second place), Brazilian women showed their grace and optimism about life. The international average was 6.74. In the last place of the ranking were the women of Zimbabwe, with 4.04.
One curiosity: single women are happier. Then comes the married women, followed by divorcees and widows. All these data are part of Neri’s new book (“A Nova Classe Media”). The economist specializes in research on poverty and the new Brazilian middle class.
