According to Stephan Cheplick:
“From 2007 to 2008 the price of crude oil climbed from $55 per barrel to $144 per barrel. In percentage terms, that’s an appreciation greater than 160%. What’s even more phenomenal, however, is the giant drop that immediately followed this climb. Just 5 months later and crude oil was trading back BELOW $40 per barrel.”
