According to Economatica, the Brazilian Bovespa-listed companies of billionaire Eike Batista accumulated losses of R$1.02 billion in 2011, more than twice the year earlier’s losses of R$450 million. Eike’s EBX group has six publicly traded companies, of which five lost money.

OGX, the oil company, reported the largest loss, with negative R$482 million. Next came MPX Energia, which lost R$408.6 million. OSX, the shipyard company was the only one in the group of six to make a profit: R$7.6 million.
