The latest BlackRock Sovereign Risk Index shows how nations rank in terms of riskiest sovereigns, which is particularly useful for macro investors.  No surprise here: the list shows most European nations at the riskiest end of the spectrum (right of the graph). It’s also worth pointing out that the Southern European countries tend to rank lower than most emerging markets, while Northern European countries are described by the report (download below) as “fiscally squeaky clean and economically robust”.
