A rank developed by consultancy firm Economatica lists the 30 publicly traded companies in Latin America with the largest 2011 losses, of which 20 are Brazilian. In a position of “prominence” are Eike Batista companies OGX and MPX, in addition to Gafisa (“Brazil’s champ of the year”) and Gol.

According to the survey, the Latin American company that racked up the biggest loss last year was Mexico’s Cemex, the cement manufacturer, with losses of $ 1.37 billion.
