According to a recent survey by Hay Group, companies operating in Brazil offered the world’s largest bonus packages for executives in 2011.

According to the study, on average, Brazilian executives received a variable remuneration of US$ 147,000. This amount is equivalent to about eight months’ salary. In the United States, professionals in the same level received US$80,000 in bonuses in 2011.

Since 2005, this is the largest amount ever paid in bonuses to executives in Brazil. For instance, the same executives received bonuses equaling 4.5 monthly salaries. In 2010, this ratio was about 6 months’ of salary in bonuses.

In Chile, the second in the rank, executives celebrated the year with a bonus of US$129,000.

Even in salaries Brazilians tend to earn more. For instance, according to the survey, executives working in Brazil earned, on average, about US$275,000 per year salary. In India, this figure was US$87,000.
